    Does my surname, Castillo have any Jewish or Native ancestry?

    http://www.genealogy.com/forum/surnames/topics/castillo/365/  Have there been any "odd" religious practices in your family, inconsistent with your religion, if you have one? My aunt was born in Spain, was a Roman Catholic, but her mother koshered the meat, as did her mother, and her mother. This might indicate Sephardic ancestry. In Peru, there are Catholics, who sit on something hard, when a close relative dies, also a Jewish custom.

    Yes...if the mother is Jewish, then the child(ren) is/are Jewish, according to Jewish law..

    One link last note that has nothing to do with left-handedness: If I owned one of these new destros, I would do something sacrilegious.
