We've had a 50"  Winviews for a few years now. Its cost in 2009 was $890. Its been moved two house's, in and out of a basement a couple times also. Problem is I can't find anything on it. The gu we bought it from said it was LG's commercial brand.

Samsung has by far the best quality and price, check out the 55 in LED 3D TV at $1600 its a real bargain, and you get a free Blueray player and 2 sets of 3D glasses

I've had a Pioneer 50" Plasma since October 2006. 'Made in Japan'  On most all day and night, never gave me a problem other than now I want a bigger one. I don't even know if they are still making Pioneer TV's, especially in Japan, I paid 3X what 50" china or Indonesia TV's are going for today. 

If I were to go shopping again, I would look seriously at Samsung.  I used to be Sony guy but their qc had went downhill since the mid 90's.
