There is, in my mind, one ref. 2497 to rule them all. About a year ago, I started a list of five watches link I'd like to see come to auction again, if for link no other reasons than 1) I'd have to fly out and see them for myself; and 2) because they'd completely link reset our understanding of the price a rare watch can achieve. This was the first watch on that list and it basically speaks for itself.

Despite the still-lingering fallout from the financial crisis, interest link in link vintage watches has continued to link grow (mostly) unchecked. To the watch industry, the ability to directly connect not only to the past of specific brands, but also to the burgeoning world of vintage watch collecting, meant that vintage-style watches, and vintage-style lume, could very much move the needle on sales.
