They are all fairly much alike, in that you first remove the spark plug wire for the sake of safety, then the belt guard. The next thing you do is seperate the front housing from the main frame, essentially splitting the blower in two pieces. Be careful of the cables and such, so as to not damage them.
If you have your model and serial numbers, you can go to a Snapper/MTD website and download a maintenance manual.
Keep in mind, that if you have been operating it with worn or stretched belts, you might have to re-adjust your cables, so that the newer belts have the appropriate tension. Make sure you get the cables back onto the pulleys before completely re-assembling the two main pieces. A couple of 2"X4" 's will come in handy to place underneath for re-alligning them.
If you are having issues with the drive, and the belt doesn't help, you will need to drain your fuel and oil before standing it up on the front (auger and impeller) housing to see if the drive disk needs changing also. That you gain access to from the bottom underneath the main frame, by removing the skid pan.
Make sure you remember to replace your fuel and oil, and also re-connecting your plug wire before attempting to start. None of this is difficult, but it is a little time consuming...and it would be good if you had a warm garage to do it in.
