i am pretty sure that your bmw no longer has a dip stick as the picture in your 1st answer that you have received. if it is not in that location in the photo then it is computer controlled . there should be a driver information center on your dash board which will perform the oil level check and show if you need to add oil. your owners manual ,if you have will explain it better.
