      For a small dog or cat, hold her back against your stomach with her head up and feet hanging down. Fit your fist into the soft hollow immediately beneath her rib cage and pull in and up toward your belly and chin with a strong thrusting motion. It's a little different with a large dog so let me know if you need those directions. This information is from the book First Aid companion for Dogs and Cats.
