    Russian scientists just reached Lake Vostok which is 12,336 feet below the ice in Antarctica. It is located 800 miles SE of the South Pole. How can you be SE of the south pole? Wouldn't you just be East of it?

    Great point.  Do you suppose they meant to say North East?  lol!  You can't go South of the South Pole as it is as far South as you can go!  Funny!
