Would this be a knitted sweater? If it is, stains are very hard to remove from a knitted sweater.

It is a very lightweight knit - I think mostly cotton. It is so lightweight that it is almost see-through. I have been afraid to even try anything until I get some advise. I appreciate your response. Thank you!
Get some Oxyclean. follow the directions listed on the tub. http://www.ascleanedontv.com/oxyclean.html Walmart has it and they also have their own band, Sun I believe it is called. It's cheaper but works just as well I think.
