It's a bit murky but the first Speedmaster with the "racing" dial is thought to have emerged in 1968 as a variant of the 145.022-68. Instead of the standard black dial it featured a grey dial with an orange chronograph hand. The running seconds counter and hands appeared link in white while the chronograph functions appeared link in orange. The model is highly sought after by collectors but link little scholarship exists concerning it.
