the 4.3 chevy engine came with 2 vin eng. codes. one is w and the other is z code. anyway both blocks will bolt the same to the car chassis and all the eng brackets or accessories will fit the same. the only big difference it will be in the intake or fuel system desing. one has an octapuss port fuel injection desing and the other is the old double injector desing throttle body. the old intake is aluminum and other is black plastic .
