What caused it?
@itsme: I really don't know. I can smell a tiny bit if the odor is really pungent but one of my brothers has no sense of smell. Other than that, we're almost normal. :o)

Something to see the doctor about. If you can’t smell, you can’t taste. Right? That would be difficult. Good luck finding out.

I know most people think you must be able to smell to taste but that's not completely true. The sense of smell just adds to the sense of taste.
