    Meanin of revolution :


    An overthrow or repudiation and the thorough replacement of an established government or political system by the people governed.
    2. Sociology. a radical and pervasive change in society and the social structure, esp. one made suddenly and often accompanied by violence. Compare social evolution.
    3. a sudden, complete or marked change in something: the present revolution in church architecture.


    basically a revolution means a complete change in the shape or common structure of something. the scientific revolution was a complete change in the way Europeans viewed just about everything. The french and Russian revolutions were the attempted overhauls of current thinking and political structures that hoped to lead to a complete new system and way of life. (Russia's was "successful", France's was not)
