the proteins in urine are called Ketones. It happens when your body cells can't break down glucose ( sugar ) to use for energy.....so , it breaks down fat istead. If your ketones are too high, you can get quite sick. That is called ketone acidosis. So, if your urine test strip shows your ketone level is too high call your doctor !
