Did President Obama make the right call??? Deal fell through with Canada for an oil pipe line to the US.

The pipe line would run through land that was sensitive. Do you agree with the decision? What would you have done?

I saw that this was a month ago an realized I have wasted a month of my life... And I would have accepted the agreement with the stipulation that the pipe line needed to be re routed!

Terrible mistake. Hopefully it will add to the cost of his presidency.

I didnt know that cost could get any higher... Good grief....

Oh, it sure can! It'll also put that much more of a burden on our economy.

Makes perfect sense.  Obama does opposite of what is can be good for america. Obama now has earned the title " worthless piece of crap "

Bad call they said the same thing about the Alaskan pipeline as well that proved to be very lucrative as well as safe...

The oil pipeline would have been contracted and the number of temporary jobs would be gone quickly. The oil industry is pushed to locate and develop oil and gas deposits but it is not supported as well to exploit that the government has paid to develop. As a result there are wells all over the world that are simply sitting there doing nothing while the oil companies go off to find more oil and gas. Near Eureka California there is a natural gas repository that is said to contain a 10,000 year supply for the United States of the precious stuff that the oil companies are wild about finding elsewhere and is willing to uphold high prices rather than use what has already been found. I think we should nationalize this money grubbing industry and stop abusing us for their pleasure and astronomical profits. We have paid enough already.

Just once I'd love to see them explain the logic behind such a decision to a roomful of the average public that gets stuck carrying the burden of their stupid mistakes. Just once I'd love to see the average American have the opportunity of giving them an earful of what it feels like to suffer through their stupidity, and it be televised on national television without editing. It would do this country so much good for the average citizen to call them out in public. I can feel my blood pressure going up just thinking about this!

    Approve the project.

US. dependency on oil is pure stupidy. Our real problems  are inefficient automobiles, absence of diesel powered cars and complete absence of of modern high vellocity trains.

The Enviromental campaign against yhe keystone pipeline shows the centrist and lackluster nature of Obamas presidency and the Greens make up a sizeable chunck of the presidents support and used the pipeline to push for energy reforms during an electiian year.and got one big stalemate and no change.

The US. needs radical leadership to overcome its growing inequalities, its stagnating economy, its destructive energy practices and the countrys "Winner takes all politics.

But Obama remains as he began: a charming fence sitter. On Keystone he merely postponed, delayed and deferredThe US, the worlds  first dysfunctional petro state has no energy policy other than consumption. But Big Oil will not have it any other way and US. polititians remain captive to oil interestsIn the end, the pipeline rapture provides some lessons.Pipelines are not about security or jobs, but about making money.

WHY would we possibly want to import oil from a friendly nation???

    You are kidding, true?

Kidding in a sarcastic sort of way.

I did not know that Americans wanted good paying jobs a least they don’t seem too by the way they vote.

Doolittle, as all you regulars know, is Green....If we want to grow independent we need to use more wind power, solar power, and water generated power.  Most of the oil gained from such a huge source would be sent overseas- in trade= and not utilized in the US (or Canada).  Oil spills permanently harm the enviroment and the animals involved.  A structure that extensive has a statistical probability of having saeveral 'small' spills.  When Boston had the "Big Dig" to expand highways people had jobs- until it was finished.  Then they had to search elsewhere.  The same exact job situation would occur with the pipeline...lots of jobs for a while then many would be out of work again.  Also, just digging out the land and placing the pipeline would ruin local eco-systems the entire length of the way.  {WOW! a politial opinion that agrees with Obama!}.

P.S. I will never vote for someone who travels 12 hours with their dog on top of their car!!!  Someone that uncaring and stupid (HELLO- put the luggage on top of the car and the dog in the car!!) would be downright terrifying Running a country!!!)

To the tree huggers out there. You don't want the pipeline because it will disrupt the mooses lifestyle, or force some unwanted bug into extinction. You will end up with moose s*** on your plate because the price of food will be such that your neighbor will start looking like a possible meal.

I think it's because the president's  boss is making good traditional oil profits and this cheaper oil would reduce his profit margin.

Politicians (?) may approve this later on in the year to gain presidential votes for u-no-hu
