It depends on what state you're in . But, I wouldn't think they would let you register it if your license has expired.

First find out how to re-instate your license... In my State there are hoops to jump through and a fee to pay. After that, if your regisration is still good but it's renewal time it's a flat fee and as mycatsmom stared the DMV or MVA can answer your questions.

DMV: department of motor vehicles MVA: motor vehicle administration Your state has one or the other- they are exactly the same. Just depends on what your state chose as a name.
