      The bible states that Adam and Eve were the first people created.  No where does it state that they were the only people created............

        In Gensis the hebrew translation of Adam is mankind and when woman is created it provides a separation of the sexes, before that Adam is really sexless. Later the bible states that they become one which refers to copullation. God created mankind and not just a man. So, there were plenty of women from which to choose. That's the problem with trying to apply a literal translation. The bible is symbolic.
