    What is meant by standard size pillow cases...double, queen, king or does standard just mean pillow for double?

    Yes.  Pillow come in different sizes, so the cases are manufactured to fit.  The ones for a king-sized bed are probably 2/3 again as big as a "standard" pillow, which fits nicely on a single/twin sized bed.  Two standards would fit on a double bed, and pretty well on a queen-sized bed.  I have never seen queen-sized pillows, but if they exist (and they probably do), they would be in between the standard (double/twin) and king pillows.  The pillow cases fit the pillows.  I've noticed the king-sized pillow cases to be a little narrower than standard.
