    What part of speech is to succeed in the following sentence?

    We must be confident in order to succeed.

    It is why you must be confident.  Confident is what you must be.  Must be is the verb/predicate. So, is it the subject of the verb phrase in order to succeed.   It is some object of something.  I'll get back to you on this.  I should know this.............
