I click the camera into link hi-burst mode and squeeze off a few frames. Then slowly link advance then shoot again. Wait again. Advance again shoot again. It was a trick I picked up shooting skittish herons and wary migratory shorebirds link around my home back in Marin County. This method ensures the shooter always goes home with at least a single photo of the encounter. Advance. Shoot. Wait. Repeat.
