Don't wait to get help if you think you have had a stroke. There is something else that is very similar to a stroke called bells palsy(probably spelled wrong) that can happen as well. Get to a doctor.

Sudden numbness, tingling, weakness, or loss of movement in your face, arm, or leg, especially on only one side of your body.

Sudden vision changes, trouble speaking, confusion or trouble understanding simple statements.

Sudden problems with walking or balance, a severe headache that is different from past headaches

If you are having ANY of these symptoms of a stroke, call 911 or other emergency services RIGHT AWAY.   Let them tell you it is not a stroke

A stroke might give you a warning. Jack Large explained it well but I want to add.

My mom slipped on our back porch. It wasn’t a place where one would usually slip. After that she lay down and slept for many hours. I tried to get her to go to the doctor even though it was “only a slip”  Shortly after that, she had a massive stroke.

It was t a precursor to a stroke.  If I had had the power to MAKE her go for a check up it would have saved us about twenty years of a nursing home.

    People go into denial.
