    If I halve the ingredients of a Xmas pudding receipe, does this mean that the boiling time should be halved.

    I don't know never having made Xmas pudding but I wouldn't think so.  But don't trust me, I don't even know what it is...........

    Some recipes cannot be cut in half.  For some reason, they will not turn out, so I don't know what to tell you about that.

    I don't know what to say either - never been able to work out what to do regarding cooking if I take only half the dish - usually I cook it for same time - seemed to work - wasn't cremated.

    Yeah very disappointing to open the oven and find burnt edges and a raw middle...lol

    My English friend is telling me that  if you are boiling the pudding wrapped in a muslin cloth, then it is done when it floats, so just watch it.  Or if you are cooking it in a bain marie then reduce the cook time by 1/3.
