Etymology. That word "squirrel", first attested in 1327, comes from the Anglo-Norman esquirel which is from the Old French escurel, the reflex of a Latin wordsciurus. ... The native Old English word for the squirrel, ?cweorna, survived only into Middle English (as aquerne) before being replaced.

so what did it mean ?
It simply shows variations of 'squirrel' meaning those furry, cute, fluffy tailed varmints! They are cute! We have a rather large Eastern Grey that trounces past our window every day just to annoy the cats... lol!
All four versions offer drilled lugs and full-steel bracelets plus display casebacks so you can see the beautiful movement within. Water resistance for the Hi-Beat models is 30 meters while the Spring Drive's which are slightly larger and ever so slightly link thinner manage 100 meters. Finally while the movements differ greatly in specification link both offer true local link jumping GMT functionality.
