        chuck roast- I cook mine in beer with onions then add the carrots and potatoes later.

          How much beer do you add? I've never made it with beer. Beer makes it tender, right?

          Yes it makes it tender. I put a can of beer in mine. Of course the oven heat kills the alcohol so its safe for teetotalers. And it really smells good roasting. Smells like bread baking. Probably from the yeast

          Rump roast is the best to me.

            Works for pot roast but I think a rump roast is better for roast beef. I'm making roast beef for Christmas dinner. Wanna come over?
