    I have been told I have to travel 75 miles roundtrip in order to keep my job. This places a big hardship on me financialy.Can I quit and be eligible for unemployment benifits?

    I now travel 18 miles a day.

    If you think you can find a job nearer where you live, perhaps.


    If it were me, I would keep the job if it is a good job.


    I did just that and drove 100 miles round trip, for thirty years until I retired, when my good job was moved, however. 


     

    The answer is dependent upon your individual Unemployement State laws.  However a general rule of thumb used by most employers is that, is the job more than one hour driving distance from your home?  My trick knee tell me that you are probably going to have to do the travel in order to keep the job.
