Should congressmen and Seators be allowed to trade stock or buy land when they know about things before the public?

Seems it is perfectly legal for these public servants to dip into the information wealth that Washington DC is and take information that has not been released to the rest of us and say buy a stock that will benefit by some sort of insider information he/she became privy to? Doesn't seem right to me, seems like a loophole that has these individuals drooling over when they see the opportunity to make money hand over fist before anyone else.

In my opinion it is insider trading, just like what Martha Stewert went to jail for. I don't get how these greedy people get away with doing things like this, and not doing their jobs, and not paying taxes to payback what is making them rich. And they still aren't smart enough to watch who they are sleeping with, which seems to be the only thing you can get thrown out of congress for. Didn't Newt Gingrich already get into trouble for some sexual thing? What makes him differant then Herman Caine? I just don't know who is doing the right thing any more. But I don't think any of them are.
