          Were I live the old phone book is loaded with advertisements for lawyers. People like to put a face with who they are going to be dealing with. I think the next best is to find a lawyer referral service especially if you think you have a big case and you cannot rule out the TV. I see ads all the time asking if you used this product and were harmed by it to give them call.
