    I have a 2002 Chevrolet Impala that has a popping sound in the brake area

      Most vehicles that are front wheel drive have constant velocity joints unless they have a live axle which is rare or they are really, really old ,some old,old vehicles have back to back U/J's. So if your Chevrolet' is  fwd it will have them
