    How do I find the origional price of an item before a precentage markup?

    Can't figure out this problem.  Item sells for $49.50 after a 35% markup.  what was the origional price of the item?

    Ask the merchant. Good luck getting an answer.

     The original price = [Marked up price * 100] divided by [100 + % mark up]
