how do you get fresh pumpkin to look darker like canned pumpkin

after cooking your pumpkin and pureeing it what can I do to make it look darker like canned pumpkin

Personal experience.....When most raw items are cooked, they become darker.

Pumpkin varieties differ in color. I think canned ( pie pumpkin ) is a little darker than regular pumpkin.
