Battery most likely.

You may have a dead cell in your battery, or poor connections, dirty battery terminals.

As a girl who knows next to nothing about mechanics, I would guess "starter" problems...Sorry..........

Put a test light on the starter selonoid wire ( The little Spade terminal ) turn the key if it lights up and your Battery as at least 12.5 Volts your starter is probaly faulty if your Battery as less than 12.5v it'syour battery jump it

check the above first, if none of these then probably your starter motor

you may need a new starter. your wires may be bare somewhere between the battery and the starter. you mightr need a better ground. you can test if its the starter by hitting it with something while cranking the engine over. and if you find out the problem but it still makes a growly noise you might need to shim it.

I would say the starter or the battery check your battery first.
