      Yes .. just like all other oil it will get dirty and needs to be changed. It works differently as far as synthetic will go to the hotspots and actually penetrate into the metal. Other oils act differently on hot spots.Synthetic isn't recommended for older motors, so check with the manufacturer before switching.
