      because some people have their veins and corpuscles close to the surface of the inside of their nose.....where  the membranes are thin.   When I was a kid, my mother's nose kept bleeding so bad at night, that my dad had to take her to the E.R.  2 or 3 times. She finally had it cauterized and it never bled again.   :-)

          I get them on occasion also. I find that it's always after taking a few aspirins for a headache. I don;t get them often luckily. That's the only thing I can think of.
