      when Jesus was baptised he was immersed in water, we are to follow his example.

        Never understood why Jesus needed to be baptised as he was already the Son of God.

          depends on what you believe and what religion you are.  I believe that as ling as you feel the ceremony is real and it gives you the spiritual closeness you desire any of these can accomplish the baptism ritual.
