    does vertical welding require a lower amp setting to reduce blowthrough?

    I'm attempting to weld cracks in a 50 year old tractor's square tubing frame & can barely weld 1 inch without blowthrough. I have few welding skills but have preperation knowledge & do weld such items as plow beams.Help please. thank you

      Try moving the rod a bit faster.
