      I read somewhere fabric softener - just a little all over then take off the smear with a dry tissue. Prevents static and guess what - it works.

        If it is a big screened television, I'd just go get some screen cleaner. Some chemicals can really do a number on some of the newer models.

            On our 50in LCD we use just plain old water 0n a damp  cloth and dry it afterwards.
