Seroquel is a psychotropic medication given for behaviors.  Commonly administered to the elderly for  dementia associated psychosis.  Generally administered 12.5 or 25mg 3 to 4 times daily.  I believe the max daily dose is 300mg daily.  This medication may cause sedation at highest doses.  May cause patient harm if stopped abruptly.

I was given it to help induce sleep but I guess the dose was too small....I still have trouble sleeping....

Seroquel (quetiapine fumarate), an oral medication for the management of the manifestations of psychotic disorders (including schizophrenia), was cleared by the FDA for marketing on September 29, 1997. Seroquel is a new "atypical" antipsychotic agent in a new chemical class called dibenzothiazepine derivatives. Seroquel is manufactured by Zeneca Pharmaceuticals.
