An old friend of mine has a peanut farm in Voca, Texas and according to this article, Texas is the second  biggest peanut producers in the USA.

Roasted, salted, in the Shell, served in buckets at the table at Logan's Roadhouse....shells go on the floor. Dry roasted, honey crunch, spicy....but never boiled.

Yes they're good if you get them fresh, A gal brought some in to work, I think she got them from Walmart. They were canned and  tasted like dirt. 

I've never heard of them being around here in Texas, must be a Georgia and Mississippi thing, correct if I'm wrong.....
