I use MP3 Rocket, the free version(basic). You can listen to the song before you download. You can also listen to or download videos, play games, chat, listen to radio, watch TV. The only thing is you have to listen to the song before you download because some of the songs are Live performances, or it has low quality sound. But I always find the song I want.

Another site I use is Frostwire. (free version) They say they are not affiliated with Limewire. The only thing with this site is, you can't listen before you download. But you can pause the download to get a preview listen. I always pause it in the 90% range, so I can get a longer preview to make sure there isn't any glitches.
