The carb. more than likely needs cleaning, or the intake manifold is leaking.

i have cleaned the carb.
You can still have a jet partly clogged if not professionally cleaned. I'm an X motorcycle dealer.

Well, if it only runs with the choke on, it sounds as though it needs a richer mixture, because that's exactly what a choke ultimately creates.

If he has been changing the exhaust pipes or the carb. adjustments this can be the problem. I assumed it had just started doing this.
