Stay at Chiangmai's house instead of a hotel.

About 4 years ago, I spent a week on the island of Kaui with a friend.  We purchased a tent when we arrived, and loaded up the ice chest that had been part of the luggage...it was filled with ccoking supplies, towels, etc. 
Then we spent the week camping out at the beaches  It was $6/night for the two of us. Our dinners were "minute rice" and some marinated seafood which we purchased daily for less than 5 dollars, plus a nice green salad.  Breakfasts and lunches were simple and inexpensive.
That was the best trip ever....Waking up with the beach "right there" really gave me a feeling of being "connected" to Kauai somehow.  Very peaceful and very personal.  AND FUN.

Don't go.Stay home & watch docos on TV.

Swim there instead of flying.
