        I was always told that the bright "star" you see next to the moon (or closes to it) is Venus....

          jh, that's what i've been led to beleive as well, the eastern star is venus, last in the morning , first at night.

          on oct,  27 th 9 p.  Mercury o.2 degrees N. of moon

            on the 21 st of oct..... around  7 p.   Mars  6 degrees north of moon will be brightest.


            On the 22 nd of oct.   around 8 p.  Juno  in conjunction  with Sun
