It pays to try to get as close to your goal as possible. In the case of Nivada, that link goal was to recreate this watch in its link 36mm sizing without making it a proper thiccc boy. And that meant mecaquartz. And while that's a potentially controversial choice, historically speaking, it makes for a watch that's a ton of fun. At the asking price of $470 (at time of writing), link fun is all I need.

If you look at the more traditional No. 5 Sonnerie you see the early Dufour aesthetic that carried over to a lot of the Simplicities with link the moonBreguet-style hands and Roman numerals. You'll also link notice the switches on the right side of the case link operating the "SilentSound" and "GrandPetite" selectors for the watch. This is the most traditional style of case design for Sonneries and what was used for the No. 7 at Phillips.
