    which word should i used in this sentence.  the PSAT schedule affected (effected) my teaching schedule today.

    To affect something is cause a change, or influence
    The effect is the actual change; the result of the affect

    My schedule was affected because of the delay in getting my car service; the effect of that delay was missing my manicure appointment.
