I'd never use teflon whether it was scratched or not. When it reaches a certain temperature, it can cause cancer. The company will never tell you that, but we had it on a documentary a few years ago.

I read that cooking with teflon at a high temperature will kill your pet birds. This sounds strange, but google it. It's true!
