    i would like to ask if a person has a order of protection on someone but they live in the same builden how would they not violate the order

    It depends on what the "Order of Protection" states and they all vary.  If the person "being protected" has any doubt or fear, it would be a good idea to contact the police department and ask them the questions.  They will want to know exactly what the order states, so be prepared.

    It is a crime to disobey an AVO. If the defendant disobeys any of the orders in the AVO, the defendant may be arrested and charged. The maximum penalty for disobeying an AVO is 2 years imprisonment and/or a fine of $5,500. If you are a protected person and the defendant disobeys any of the orders in the AVO, call the police immediately.
