    Is this legal of an insurance company to change what the policy states by an addendum in homeowners insurance my entire coverage was changed an now i have to make repairs to my home that sustained fire damage and then be reimburst i thought that was why i carried insurance to protect me from this type of expense

    I would contact the commision that oversees insurance companies within your state, province, or region, and inquire of the legality of such. It doesn't sound very ethical. But, in this instance it is the opinion of your insurance commision that matters, not mine. After you've checked on the legality, I think I would talk with a newspaper and the local television news, and even a national news program. Just a way of putting a little heat on them...they don't like their dirty work aired before large audiences. You have all the facts at hand to do it, and they definitely deserve it.
