      in the cemetary, in the county courthouse, in your old family bible that belonged to your grand or great grand parents. People uesd  to record births, deaths and marriages in the family bible.  It's easier now that  you have the internet. It used to be a lot of traveling around and writing to people and calliing people who you don't know to interview them.
