Vinegar?? WOW! I never heard of this, it's an acid, wouldn't that eat the varnish/stain coat?? I'm sure you would at least need to finish it off with a good wax to protect the wood after the vinegar eats off the protective coat.. I remember when i was a kid, mom would clean windows with a deluted vinegar concoction, really stinks but the acid would make the glass sparkle!

GUARDSMAN-- This is the best over the counter Cleaner/polish I have come across, in my business we use it on 100K+ pianos - I wouldn't think of using anything else. Here's a website
