    why is there so much background noise at sporting events that you cant here the announcers

    Because there are a lot of fans. Sports make money off the fans, not the announcers. The louder the din, the more money is spent because people are excited which makes them thirsty and hungry. This noise also makes the games more real for the home fans who tune in. More fans tuning in, means more advertisers and more money for the TV station.
