      Bad as in how? If you think it's broken just elevate and ice it, take Tylenol as an anti inflammatory. Toes do not require splints or casts, they will heal on their own.

          If it's an in-grown toenail you will need to see a podiatrist.If it gets infected you will need a course of anti-biotics.
